What a boring film. I love George A. Romero movies, but this has to be his worst film ever.
I strongly recommend everyone to stay well clear of this emmbarasment of a movie.

I just watched this today (2/8/08) and omg i was so bored. i can not belive i wasted £17.99 on this, anyway i put it up for sale on playtrade, i will deffo not watch this again, i can not belive i wasted 1 hour and 25 minutes of my life and now i won't get that back. if you buy this then you are a bigger fool then me. it was dreadfull and they was a sexy hunk in it the one who surved at the end was hot. but appart from him all the actors were dreadfull and boring, it was like a reality show, more like big brother. (but i don't watch that)

i have to say that compared to others such as land of the dead and dawn of the dead, this film falls a little short.
The persective of being filmed on a camcorder means that only one angle of action can be shot at one time in some sequences so you are restricted the overall feel of the action from all corners of the room.

However, the movie does have its parts that will make you jump and the effects for the zombies and there deaths were very good and original.

I think maybe a bigger budget to make the movie and some better known faces may have added to more polished acting performances.

If you are a die hard zombie fan i would recommend taking a look, but if your not sure in buying then make this a rental.

I was well excited about this move but i got up in the cinema and went home.................... i have never done that but this was just a joke on an epic scale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This film was total rubbish, don't get me wrong I'm a fan of George A. Romero, but this film is not a patch on his others. You can expect some cheesy lines form the dead series...this takes the cake.

I really didnt like this film because of the poor acting. No one really got into there characters and you really didnt care if they died or not.

OK I'm a big fan of George A. Remero and especially his dead series and I had high hopes for diary, but really they weren't meet on pretty much any level, but I still found myself really enjoying the film, and the experience as a whole, a lot of people didn't like the film, but if you give it a chance you may be surprised, lots of social commentary as expected, but worth a watch at the very least.

The blu ray version has a fantastic picture really crisp and sharp and the sound is also very good, really helping add to the tension, no blu ray exclusive features, if your a Romero/zombie fan with a blu ray player its a good rental/purchase.

The avearge review of this fim is well justified. Im ahuge romero fan and have loved all his past zombie efforts even land of the dead which was till this considered the worse installement,still had lots to like. This however is mearly avaeage at best. it starts quite well,the first 20 mins or so being the best,but where as the past dead films had great characters and strong leads this is just a terrible cast of oc and dawson creek wannabee's with no one standing out as being strong or cool..the kids professer being the best character but still not like the characters from the previous installements.

It is also very very low budget and this can be good but this does look like it was peanuts to make. All in all this a film made by a filmaker who is resting on his laurels. Worth renting for sure but dont buy.

the other review is wrong!!!this is great romero,loads better than land of the dead,over the past 3 years there has been so many terrible zombie flicks,e.g house of the dead,the zombie diaries,the undead etc.romero blows all of these away,great story great fx and some briiliant well thought out zombie deaths,if you like romero you'll love it,bring on diary of the dead 2!!!

Ive been a loyal fan of George and his zombies for more yrs than I care to remember, this looked very promising with a newish, (see the zombie diaries DVD) angle on seeing the start of a zombie outbreak.
The film should have been gritty and scary with a real sense of the end of the world, however what we get are a bunch of unlikeable characters in stupid situations, it had more laugh out load moments than scary parts which im sure is not what its meant to be, felt more like a parody than a serious zombie horror. watch 2004's remake of dawn of the dead instead, much better even without the shuffling undead.
In fact shaun of the dead had more unerving moments than this tosh.
what a let down........
