...as this could have a second movie to sequal it, which i hope if there is one, it could be very good. Everything about this movie is well done, not really well done, the reason for the 3 stars from me.

This film is not nearly as bad as people make out.

I saw this film earlier in the year with my girlfriend by accident really, we went to the cinema to see Rambo the day it stopped showing so we ended up seeing "The Eye" instead.
I wasn't expecting much, if anything from this film as recent remakes of Japanese horror films have been terrible and I think it was for that reason I actually enjoyed the film.

I was genuinley surprised, I thought I would have hated it but I didnt.
Yes this is a dumbed-down (Americanized) version of the original but it is still an entertaining film with enough suspense and scares to keep you on the edge of your seat.

The only thing I really didnt like about this film was the ending, it should have stayed true to the original film and I have no idea why it was changed.

Overall I give this film 3 stars as it is above average but I would advise people to check out the original.

I have to say despite the eye finally getting the praise it deserves, i have to say just watch the god damn original.

The ending on this film totally sucked!! I'm not going to ruin it for people who haven't seen it yet but they changed the classic ending of the Pang brothers masterpiece. The point of the film was totally lost, this being that when your times up it's up!!

The plot also was not explained as well as the original. The lack of story and explanation around the little boys and eye doner's suicides, made there stories less emotional and not as believable.

But i've still given this 3 stars because 'give credit, where credits due' the film was not all that bad and did deliver on the horror element in the film. And is a lot better than some of the other rubbish horror films out today. But is still an average Chinese horror film remake.

3 stars for the film. The original is so much better though.
