I wasnt sure what the hype was about this film but when i watched it , it felt weird but yet such a rich film. The imagery and production of the film is amazing and visuals are top notch. I still am disturbed about this film in a weird way. The film is WEIRD!! . The musical numbers are fantastic. Its basically everything you'd expect from Tim Burton. Wierd , fantastic, cooouky, outragous and a masterpiece. You have to watch this if you want to see REAL!!!!!! thriller , fantastic visuals and Johnny Depp at the top of his game. Fantastic supporting cast, especially carter. One to watch and then not watch again for a while LOL-[ Because its a bit disturbing not cos its crap]
not that good

I have to admit, i'd heard some great things about this film and i'm a fan of musicals so my expectations were quite high. Sadly, i felt that it failed to live up to my expectations. The story line was a bit stilted and the songs were not catchy. I felt that most of the songs were not needed and only used because the film is labelled as a musical. the only good thing about it was Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham-Carter.
Wooow

This is one of the best films I have EVER watched. The plot was great and Johnny Depp is the perfect Sweeney Todd. Best for watching with a mate, so you can sing along to the songs and flinch at the gory parts. I loved it!
One of the greatest Masterpieces

10/10 essential viewing. Tremendous performances from both Depp and Carter, beautiful sensational songs and music, Depp shows he actually has a nice voice, very bloody and extremely enjoyable. You'll start singing along, you'll be shocked at the level of gore and violence, absolutely stunning and a must for all movie lovers.
bored

Well this is the first time in a good number of years that i had to turn the film off, i was that bored...about 45 minutes in and i couldn't bear anymore...he hadn't even killed his first victim...
There was to much hype about the film.
I saw Sweeny Todd a couple of years ago, and Ray Winstone played him, and that was excellent..
'delicously splendid' region '1' watched.

'johnny depp' seems to know no boundries to his talent.
but a star of a 'musical' ? no worries for 'johnny' he simply
pulls it off.
returning to london after 15 years of serving a sentence for a crime he did not commit, his only thoughts are for revenge.
he is be-friended by 'helen bonham carter' who plays 'mrs lovett' a pie shop owner, she permits him to set up buisness in a room above her shop.
when she realizes 'sweeney todd' is on a bloody mission,
a new and very lucartive ingrediant for her pies are on the menu.
the film does have it's fair share of blod-letting. this musical version does work.
it may not be everyones cup of tea, but i can tell you my family and i enjoyed it.
give it a go, you may be pleasantly suprised.
Surprising

When I heard it was a musical, I uttered a groan - another poor quality singing and dancing wannabe west-end play.
But this film completely surprised me.
Burton;s presentation of Victorian London was amazing.
The songs were just right, and I was impressed at how well Depp can sing.
Although the gore was particualarly horrifying in parts, Burton included just the right amount, and it really added to the dark demeanour of the film.
A must see - even for those who don't like musicals!
Burton delivers yet another classic!

You must must MUST see this film...it's amazing! Tim Burton has managed to make another cracking film. And in true Burton style its very dark, exceedingly gothic and full of black humour.
Even if you don't like musicals, give it a try. I'm not so keen on them but somehow the songs work in this film.
Johnny Depp and Helena Bonhem Carter work so well together (as always!) and the supporting cast do a sterling job of providing interesting and unfortunate characters for them to interact with.
A definate must see, an instant classic!
