Great Quality but beware Firmware Upgrade required!

Although discs take an age to load, the quality is superb. However, had major problems with discs from Univeral Studios such as Doomsday and Hulk (2008).
After investigation looks like my machine requires a Firmware upgrade to v4.20 (mine is 3.70 but I didn't buy mine from Play.com!).
Haven't cracked this yet from the Sony website so may have to take it to a Sony Support site to get it fixed.

I bought this at the beginning of August as it included 4 free DVDs, but I still haven't received them. I emailed Sony and got a quick reply that they are restocking the DVDs, but how long does it take to get them? By the way, although I agree the player is slow, the picture and sound are brilliant and the upscaling is terrific too.

If you just want to watch high quality films then this is your machine, Superb quality for £199.99 and will updcale all your exsisting DVD's to 1080 as well so there is no need to rebuy, except for Batman Begins , oh and Transformers is out on the 08.09.08. Then there is the Matrix Trilogy and Casino Royale. Oh sod it! Rebuy your collection!! LOL!!
However if you want to get full access to all future special features like Bonus View and Blue Live then get the BDPS350 which has just come out.
