The N96 is such a glorious piece of hardware it seems wrong to even criticise it - but there is a big problem with it - not the gorgeous looks, the high spec or the look and feel of the thing - it's just that it simply doesn't give you the 'out-of-the-box' experience that is being sold.
The software is buggy despite the recent update, the changes to menus are lost if you try making too many of them at the same time, the battery life is desperate, the handset randomly restarts, it fails to connect to BBC iPlayer - and that's just a few of the three-page list I wrote when I took it back for a full refund.
Take care - real life is not like the adverts.

The Nokia N96 is a brilliant phone, but - and this is a big BUT. The digital TV receiver does not work in the UK. It will only receive the BBC test transmission. The UK does not and will NOT support DVB-H in the future !!!! So except for the memory upgrade is no better than the N95 8Gb, all features are the same except support for external memory card....
So 'MUCH' more than a mobile...

This is the best yet. It knocks multimedia spots off any of its rivals and puts the iphone to shame - who wants a greasy touch screen anyway? I must admit, i dithered on a couple of occassions but i had to have one and am very pleased i did. The features and endless possibilities are truly amazing. Tv out feature is a fantastic plus enabling you to see all whats on your phone on your tv, so you can browse the internet, watch bbc iplayer, games etc, etc on the large screen too. I recommend the n96 without a shadow of doubt, so don't just think about owning one. A big well done to play - ordered one day and received the next, fantastic!
