I wasn't sure about buying this album as Mercy grated on me at first but the album is brilliant and mercy is one of the weaker songs on there in my opinion. Stepping Stone is just beautiful, you really get a feeling that she is singing from the depths of her soul, syrup and honey is bluesy and sexy and Warwick Avenue is simply gorgeous, it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Believe the hype she is an amazing talent.
Thia is a great first album for Duffy. She's got a unique voice and we haven't heard anything similar to her voice before. The album itself is great and 'Rockferry' and 'Warwick Avenue' are great songs but 'Mercy' really lets down the album for me. Personally I don't like the song and think it was just a promo song for Duffy, to introduce her to British Audiences.
I'd recommend this album to anyone. But I'm pretty sure everyone has heard her before and has already made up their mind on her.
3.5 star album

Rockferry is a fantastic album. Easy to listen to with songs that sound like you've known them for years, except that you haven't. Sometmes sounding like Diana Ross and the Supremes only for seconds later to sound like something totally different. A class act.
