This is a cracking good laptop as stated by everybody else already.
I just wanted answer the question for fellow who asked about the gfx card memory. It does NOT have 512mb. It's 128mb and can share something like another 768mb from the 3Gb laptop memory.
Not a gamer laptop by any stretch, but I'm not a gamer and this is a great performance laptop at the best price you'll find for the spec.

For a laptop with such a spec, looking so good, being a sony vaio, and at this price this is a great piece of kit!
As previously mentioned there is alot of preinstalled software to delete, and I've also had a few hardware issues when I upgraded to Vista SP1 (Graphics and Network) but I can wait until these get resolved before I update.
These issues would not put me off recommending this laptop!!

please please read this review this computer is absolutally fantastic, it runs like a dream and everything runs so smooth and fast it is great value but if you want to do ANYTHING MUSICIAL with this machine, the sound card mixer device has been disabled, vista blames sony and sony blames vista, the media player is great and the sound is not bad but a external sound card is all you need to do your mixing so don't get down hearted an external sound card is only 20 quid off play
